In this episode the focus of our conversation was all about developing confidence in selling. This episode was especially fun because I asked my good friend and colleague, Carole Mahoney to join me as a co-host. Our guest is Lauren Bailey, President and Founder of Factor8.
We started by asking Lauren how she got into a career in sales and why she became a supporter of women in sales.
Lauren shared her thoughts about why it is so important for women in sales to have role models, which is sometimes tough given that there is high percentage of men versus women in sales and sales leadership roles. Who can women look too if that is the case? And are our role models only women? Find out the answers when you listen to the interview.
Barb asked Lauren about a recent blog post on the Factor8 site where she talked about the importance of building confidence. Lauren told us why confidence is a necessary element in sales excellence.
We also discussed the difference between confidence and bravery. That led to some interesting insights about the difference between women and men when it comes to being confident in what they do. Lauren then shared her thoughts on what else it takes to be excellent in selling.
Carole checked in with Lauren about how she finds ways to balance work and family given that she is a married mom of 2 adorable children. Lauren shared her advice about what works for her. Her first message is GET HELP! You cannot do it all alone. Outsource should be your new mantra :).
Lauren is launching a new program called #girlsclub designed to help women in inside sales individual contributor roles develop the skills needed to move into sales leadership positions. We talked about the program, and Lauren shared her story of how she launched the program a at a recent AA-ISP event.
Why the #girlsclub? Lauren says that the purpose of the program is about role modeling authenticity, risk taking and about creating a community of encouragement and abundance. Interested? Get deets and apply here.
Enjoy the conversation!
